We played some records and pressed record on a Sunday afternoon at the Dive Motel and Swim Club. Here's an hour of Summer vibes to get you through the not always chill week.
Our friend and fam DJ Matthew Law out of Philadelphia just released Volume 1 of a mix series featuring his own exclusive remixes and production. Matt has been working in clubs since he was old enough to be in them and comes from a lineage of seasoned Philly DJs. Be on the look out for some of the tracks which are supposed to get release later in the year.
This weeks playlist is from Philadelphia DJ Froz 1. Lot's of sweet soul and rare groove including songs by Sunny and The Sunliners, The Brief Encounter and more.
Hey all! We are starting a new series of Spotify playlists to share some of the music we've been jamming at the shop and we are collecting submissions from some of our favorite DJs and record collectors along the way! Tune in, subscribe, and enjoy!
In Soviet Russian during the 1940s (and through the 1960s) pop music, and bootlegs of forbidden music were smuggled door to door through a series of black market dealers via old X-Ray. This was because X-Rays ( and film negatives) we're available and sturdy enough to take an engraving. The spindle holes we're typically burned out with a lit cigarette. Selling these "Roentgenizdat" ( Bone or X-Ray records) or even owning them was forbidden and could result in major punishment.
The record world is deep and far flung. There are thousands of people hitting the shop bins looking for music and countless more making it. Today we bring you an interview with DJ and producer Soul Supreme out of Amsterdam, a man equally as dedicated to hitting the bins as he is the keys. Enjoy.
We've been really enjoying Tom Misch here at the Tucker and Bloom office and wanted to make sure you catch his vibe before Summer ends. Check out the UK Soul singer/producer at his NPR Tiny Desk Concert in the video below and make sure to give his record Geography a spin as well!
The industrial engraved metal or brass name plate is the icing on top of the cake! Bulletproof, customizable, and really what sets your bag apart from others.
It’s not by chance that these are the platinum standard of the 45 bag market. Great attention to every single detail. A bag invented and produced by a working dj, co-signed by one of the most respected dj/selectors. I would dare compare these to the original technics 1200’s which were manufactured in Japan!! Quality quality quality!! Customer service is also second to none!!! I’m sure the warranty is great but I have had no issues with either of my other bags of 10+ years! Love the new magnetic snaps on the handles and the etched name plates are a really nice touch! These bags will be passed down for generations because they are built to last!!! Thank you, Case, Tucker & Bloom, and Rich!!! 🙌🏽 💎 🙌🏽 🙏🏽
My original T&B 45s bag (2016) is still going strong ~ best record bag I ever bought ~ period. When I saw a few bags were being made available + with new features ~ it was a no brainer to grab a 2nd bag for me, and one for my brother.
As ever the T&B guys were amazing on the customer service side, and helped with an expedited delivery. Thanks again Case and crew - can’t recommend T&B highly enough. Oscar, London 🇬🇧
MASSIVE shoutout to the lifetime warranty & customer support!
I received an older version of this bag 8 or so years ago as a gift from my wife, but the older models didn't have a moveable shoulder pad (it was shearling & sewn ONTO the strap in a fixed position) - it worked great when resting on my shoulder & slung under my arm, but slung around the shoulder & onto my back it was terribly uncomfortable. I saw they now offer the bags with moveable pads, so I messaged them asking if there was any way to get a replacement strap with a moveable shoulder pad (or return it to have it replaced). Case Bloom replied VERY quickly & advised me to send it in & they'd replace the strap to the updated version for free! Such a great bag & amazing company. You have a customer for life!
