Michael The Lion x Amy Douglas “Find A Way”

Our friend Michael The Lion is back with a new release on Soul Clap Records. Find A Way is a groovy inspirational disco slab that is perfect for getting the work week jump started and keeping the dance floor bubbling on a weekend night.

Play it loud!

After the success of Funk Train and Get It On, we wanted to push further and deeper and make an EP. As we started working, we knew there was one song that could be a successor to Get It On - a song about overcoming hard times in our own personal lives. We wanted a chorus and a message that would burrow into your subconscious and become a kind of mantra - Find A Way. Our incredibly talented friend, the vocalist Steven Klavier, was the perfect collaborator for this, and we three wrote something to stand the test of time. When struggles find you, and times are hard... reach down deep, look to the light, and “Find A Way.”

There was a period of time in my life where I was splitting my time between Philly and Nashville every month. The number of times I spent looking for my keys for one thing or another, was locked out of my apartment after a trip, or was just generally disorganized as a result of having improper key discipline, are innumerable.

The music of Brazil is a universe unto itself. There is an insane amount of it. I inherited a love of Bossa Jazz from my father, and the taste has slowly spread to more dancefloor-friendly Brazilian disco and funk. As a US-based record collector, finding a good and affordable source for Brazilian records has been daunting.
